Doctors of chiropractic diagnose, treat and help prevent musculoskeletal (bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, joints and connective tissues) conditions and the effect they have on the nervous system. They do not prescribe drugs or perform surgery — however, they may make a referral to medical specialists for such treatment when appropriate. They also counsel patients regarding nutrition, lifestyle and exercise. Essentially, chiropractic care is all about realigning your body so that it functions at its best.

Our chiropractors in South Calgary are primary health care practitioners, which means a referral from your family doctor is not necessary for you to receive treatment.

“I knew with an absolute inner certainty that I would be a chiropractor. I was thoroughly inspired,” said Dr. Fairbourn, moments after her first meeting with a local chiropractor. “This was the strongest message I had ever received through my intuition and I am so grateful that I followed it. Not only did I discover my future passion and career, I learned that we have an inner guidance system that we can use to find healing and joy in life.”

My Chiropractic Path Dr. Fairbourn began her pre-medical education at Mount Royal College here in Calgary and at the University of Victoria. After completing her study there, she was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. During her four years at Palmer, she found that she had a special interest in Activator Methods, a low force adjusting technique and in muscle testing. Muscle testing is a tool used in many techniques to be able to tune into our innate intelligence. After graduating in 2002, Dr. Fairbourn returned to the Calgary area to establish her chiropractic practice. She genuinely believes in the principles of alternative healing which is that the body can heal itself when there is no interference. With this strong belief, Dr. Fairbourn uses a variety of techniques to thoroughly assess and treat her patients. She also became certified in Activator Methods and primarily uses this technique for chiropractic adjustments.

Personally Dr. Fairbourn has two beautiful children, Gracie and Jackson. They were born naturally and had their first chiropractic adjustment hours after birth. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Fairbourn to explain.) When she is not at work she enjoys being outdoors, walking her dog, mountain biking, snowboarding, cooking and spending time with her kids. “Thank you for visiting our site. I hope to get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge.

Dr. Stewart is a “hands on” chiropractor who focuses on everyday aches and pains resulting from “sit – stand – sleep” postural imbalances as well as week-end warrior injuries.

Over the years Dr. Stewart has come to realize that every patient is unique and may require a different approach during treatments. Dr. Stewart believes that what happens in the office is only part of the treatment – patients are encouraged to modify their postures to aid in recovery. If you have proper posture while sitting or sleeping your body has a greater opportunity to heal and prevent problems from occurring. Dr. Stewart treats “frozen shoulder” and similar issues with the Niel-Asher Technique, for more information checkout frozenshoulder.com. He has served as a reviewer for many years with the Alberta College of Chiropractors and presently serves as an investigator/member of Complaints Resolution Committee for the College.

Dr. Stewart is married with two adult children and has a variety of interests outside of work including hockey, golf, hiking, biking and skiing. For Dr. Mike, a good summer day could start off with a bike ride then a game of golf and finish with a relaxing motorcycle ride in the foothills. Dr. Stewart has been blessed to use his skills in leading and participating in medical based mission teams to Guatemala and Malawi.
